- The episode opens as Elliot is free to hack again, stationed at Ray's PC to fix his web site. Immediately, he (as samsepi0l) is communicating with Darlene (D0loresH4ze) in an IRC chatroom called #th3g3ntl3man. He is targeting a hack upon the FBI, because his friends have vanished, Romero is dead, and his friend's last discovery was the surveillance program "Operation Berenstain."
- As Elliot narrates, he reveals the steps it takes to deliver a malware that will inject an exploit into the standard issue Android phones adopted by the FBI. His python code will not only provide access to every FBI phone in the E Corp building, but also own the network of E Corps as well. "God access. The feeling never gets old."
- Elliot raises the issue to Lone Star that he needs to meet with RT, the old sysadmin, to transfer an encrypted database for the migration to the new secure server. Lone Star will check with Ray.
- Agent Dom visits Steel Mountain (renaming to Steel Valley) to examine the Raspberry Pi.
- Darlene intrudes upon Angela's apartment, snoops into her Mac notebook, and requests her participation to infiltrate the FBI.
- Karim, the parking attendant, is increasingly squirrelly and paranoid. He meets Joanna in a restaurant, getting her assurances that all will be fine.
- Dom's FBI team arrives in China, later to be welcomed at the home of Minister Zhang, but the Dark Army is clearly involved.
- At the basketball court, Ray agrees to Elliot's meeting request.
- "Mister Sullivan" summarizes his difficulty tracking the gifts and phone, and reviews his assassination of Karim.
- Ollie meets Angela at a familiar bar under the pretense of trying to rekindle their relationship.He's bad at it, handing over his pocket folded résumé and asking too directly about "that CD." He soon spills that he talked to the FBI after she finds he is trying to record their conversation, and she summarily dumps his phone into his beer.
- Agent Dom attends a party at Minister Zhang's. While seeking a bathroom, she happens upon a room of clocks by accident. Zhang finds her, and tours her past his fine (revolutionary) art and a closet of dresses. He tips his hand about his preoccupation with the alternate realities that may be playing out for each of us in the multiverse.
- Angela meets Elliot to show her commitment to the FBI intrusion.
- RT covertly shows Elliot what Ray is doing on the site: a Dark Web free market akin to Silk Road that involves human trafficking and murder for hire. He singles this uot as his logic bomb: the condition that invokes his response to fight the evil.
- The next morning after the party, Dom confides that she was given a curious tour by Zhang, and that it culminated in his display of dresses belonging to "his sister"... a sister he never had. But immediately The Dark Army violently attacks the hotel, killing most of her co-workers. Oddly, the gunmen end their own lives to erase identification.
- Angela meets Darlene at the invaded home of Susan Jacobs.
- Elliot gets taken in his sleep by Ray, Lone Star, and two thugs. They beat his within an inch of his life. "I told you not to look." RT's bloody rat tail is dropped to the sidewalk.
